Positions at the HUUB

We are currently hiring for two AmeriCorps positions at the HUUB for our 2025-2026 year. See below for job description and information on how to apply.


Position Title:
AmeriCorps Member at The HUUB 

Supervisor: Managing Director and/or Operations Manager

Hours of Service/Term: See Americorps flyer below for more details. There are two types of term available: 900 hour term: about 9 months, can start in either September or January. These typically run from September to May/June or from January to August. 450 hour term: about 5 months in duration. Possible terms include: September to January/February, January to May/June, or May to August.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident

Service Responsibilities (variable depending on position, interests and strengths): 

The HUUB is an anchor institution in Orange NJ, cultivating neighboring and community connections. The HUUB accomplishes this by nurturing a community campus in Orange, NJ and welcoming organizations and individuals to its spaces. The community campus is home to The HUUB, University of Orange, Lanbi Center for Civics and Humanities, and the Laundry Workers Center – all grassroots non-profit organizations providing an array of programming and services in our buildings and grounds. The HUUB works with these and other partners to achieve the synergies of collective, coalition, and community work. The HUUB is hiring two AmeriCorps Service positions to support core operations and programming. HUUB AmeriCorps members will also receive frequent on-site training from HUUB Leadership and other partner organizations in fields such as community building, community organizing, building maintenance, door-knocking and fieldwork, community gardening etc. 

● Work with the HUUB team to manage the HUUB’s calendar and provide support to groups using the space for community meetings etc. 

● Document events through photography and interview for social media and communications

● Attend and support events/classes/ etc. at the HUUB 

● Provide program support for the HUUB and key partners, depending on interests and availability 

● Programs: Ben Jones Community Gardens, 100-Year-Old-House program, Planning to Stay campaign, Building Solidarity potlucks
