2025 Annual Fund Campaign: HUUB10

2025 Annual Fund Campaign: HUUB10

Our 100-year-old house has witnessed many summers over its life, but this year’s is particularly special: The HUUB celebrates its ten-year anniversary! We hope the rest of our community can come together to celebrate this milestone alongside us. With your support, we continue to serve as a space for people to gather with neighbors, cultivate gardens both physical and social, and maintain a classroom where all manner of learning is possible!

We invite you to join us as we reflect on our ten year journey— visit this page to enjoy an archive of our HUUB10 newsletters and a gallery panel from our anniversary celebration!

Joe Thomasberger Community Fellows

Joe Thomasberger Community Fellows

Since September 2016, our Community Fellows program has reaffirmed the commitment of local young people to the vitality of our shared home. Our Fellows develop their own passions through projects in social justice, community health, the arts, and civic engagement. Together, we reinvest local talent back into the strength of our social fabric.

Monthly Solidarity Potlucks

Monthly Solidarity Potlucks

Our Solidarity Potlucks are a regular opportunity for our HUUB family and friends to gather. On the third Monday of every month, we welcome new and familiar faces alike for a meal from 6-8 PM in our Parish Hall. During this time, we nourish both our stomachs and our spirits as we share in good food and good company.

Busy and beautiful heatwave Wednesday at the HUUB. Busy and beautiful heatwave Wednesday at the HUUB. Too hot for open garden so our Ben Jones Community Garden team moved into our Copek Community Art Studio and painted eggs instead. @laundryworkerscenter prepped materials for their ongoing door knocking campaign along the 280 corridor. The HUUB team made a large salad for lunch after our weekly team meeting, using a mix of greens we grew in our gardens and various veggies from our @circlebrookfarm CSA share (complimented with patties from @sunsplashbakeryandrestaurant ).

Throughout the day people popped in to pick up their CSA shares, attend community meetings, scope out the space for film shoots and weddings, and we welcomed a new intern.

We're closed today for the heat, and tomorrow and through the weekend for july 4th. Stay hydrated and cool! Read Frederick Douglass' 'What to the Slave is the 4th of July?'! Call Senators Kim and Booker to demand visitors to Delaney Hall are provided air conditioned shelter while they wait to visit their loved ones!
